30 Years and Still Growing!

BlossomsParlee Farms began as a dream in 1987 and we pinch ourselves every day that this dream is a reality. And now, in 2017, we are getting ready to open for our 30th season of growing and fruit picking! We truly appreciate the support we have received over these many years from our wonderful customers and the tireless efforts of our fabulous staff.

For the past 30 years, customers have visited our farm to pick their own fruit and flowers. Throughout the season fruits available for picking include apples, blueberries, strawberries, peaches and sweet cherries. Customers can also cut their own flowers in our flower field. In the fall, pumpkins can be picked from the thousands of pumpkins grown on the farms. In the Farmstand, we offer fresh picked fruits, flowers, sweet corn, and farm made bakery items and donuts.

In addition to offering fresh, local produce, visitors can enjoy our other farm attractions including Mary’s Country Kitchen, which offers ice cream and other tasty treats related to each picking season, Annie’s Animal Barns, which are filled with young farm animals to feed and pet, and Farmer Mark’s Tractor Training Course for the little farmers.

Every year brings its own set of challenges to the farm and this year is no exception. It has been cooler than normal and we have been getting fairly significant rain storms this spring. So how does the 2017 season look? We had full bloom on our apples, peaches, cherries, and blueberries, and the strawberries came through the winter in good shape and they are starting to blossom. Overall, we are feeling much more optimistic about the upcoming season than we were at this time last year!

We have been busy planting as well. We’ve planted around 1,000 new apple trees (with trellising) and 17,000 strawberry plants. Two acres of corn has been planted and our flower seeds are now in the ground. Maintenance projects are on-going in and around the farmstand to get ready for the season.

The entire farm will open in mid-June when the strawberries are ready for picking. We will have an exact date about a week before opening. We thank you for your support of Parlee Farms and for allowing us to do what we love to do!
