Apple Varieties We Have Available Right Now
Our apple season is in full swing and we are excited for you to come, pick your own, and enjoy what we have to offer. If you don’t want to pick your own, you can also come visit us in the farm stand where you can buy some that we’ve already picked for you! Also, while here, be sure to enjoy our other offerings, such as our petting zoo, food offerings (like our warm apple crisp), and more.
Here’s a look at the apple varieties that we have right now:
- Ginger Gold. Has skin that is a golden-green hue. They are somewhere between sweet and mildly tart. These are great for eating fresh and also taste amazing when baked – especially for apple pie.
- Gala. Has light red skin. Flavor is mildly sweet and slightly floral in its undertone. It has a fine texture that makes it a good all-purpose apple for snacking, baking, and more.
Please check our news page often to see what we have available and what our operating hours are. Note that for these apples, the orchards are just a short walk from the farm stand.
Tips for Picking Your Own Apples at Parlee Farms
If you decide to come pick your own apples, here are some tips that will help you get the most out of the experience:
- You will need a bag and your ticket in order to enter.
- We don’t allow additional bags, reusable bags or personal containers permitted in any pick your own field. Please reduce what personal items you need in the field to just the essentials.
- Someone will be available to direct you to the correct orchard.
- No eating or sampling allowed while in the orchard.
- All fruit picked must fit into the container purchased.
- Children must be kept close at all times.
- We do not accept reservations for pick your own.
- The field/orchard will close if heavy rain and/or thunder is in the area.
Other Things You Can Do at the Farm
- Cut your own flowers. Our garden still looks stunning with many choices, including our sunflowers, which have just become available recently.
- Pick your own pumpkins. Our pumpkin patch is ready! Be sure to stop in and pick a fresh pumpkin or two while here.
- Get something to eat. Eat a light lunch while here. You can also visit Mary’s Country Kitchen for some baked goods and also visit our farm stand for other choices.
Please check our website often for updates. We are looking forward to seeing you!
