It’s time to launch the 2026 season here at Parlee Farms! This will be our 39th year in business and everything is off to a great start. All of our crops look great and are on track to produce fruit for picking and for sale in our farm stand. As usual, we will be kicking the season off with our strawberries. We are fully operational and everything that you enjoyed last year will return again. We also have some additions. Here’s a look at what you can expect:
Getting Ready to Open.
Even though we may be closed during the off season, our work is never done. We take measures every fall, winter, and spring to make sure our fruit will be ready for you once we open. We close at the end of apple and pumpkin season and we do spend some quality time with our friends and family, especially through the holidays. Once spring comes we really get busy in the fields preparing our crops. We are excited to share the “fruits of our labor” with you during the season!
How We Prepare Our Crops
Even though we aren’t open in the spring, it is one of our busiest times of the year. The spring can make or break the success for the year!
- Pruned most of our plants, including the apple trees, blueberries, peaches, and cherries
- Planted 22,000 new strawberries and covered our existing plants with hay.
- Dug up our Dahlia and gladiolas bulbs and stored them over the winter.
- Planted thousand of new apple trees, cherry trees and blueberry bushes.
