Thursday, OCTOBER 9 ~

Pick Your Own Honeycrisp at Parlee Farms

Weather is one of our greatest challenges and we have a lot of weather coming through here the next few days….

  • The first freeze of the season is expected on Thursday night / Friday morning. This will impact both days.
    • Thursday 10/9:
      • PYO Flowers and Pumpkins will be open from 11am-2pm, when both fields will CLOSE. We have work to do in both fields to protect the crops from freezing.
      • PYO Apples will be open 12pm-4pm.
      • Farmstand will be open 10am-5pm.
    • To protect the Apples and Flowers, Farmer Mark will be irrigating the crops throughout the night to protect them.
    • Friday, 10/10:
      • Farmstand Delayed Opening 12pm-5pm. It will take several hours after sunrise for all the ice to melt and for us to assess the crops.
      • Pick Your Own Hours will be posted on Friday morning.

We are at the peak of the APPLE & PUMPKIN PICKING SEASON! We will have excellent picking this week and we will be open, weather permitting, on Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day, Monday October 13 (closed on Tuesday, October 14 for cleaning).  We expect our last day of the season will be Sunday, October 26.

Here is our schedule for the coming week, weather & crop permitting.  Always verify the hours and availability are posted the night before.  And please leave your pets at home ~ only service dogs are permitted on the farm. Thank you for your interest in Parlee Farms!

PICK YOUR OWN APPLES: 

  • Hours (weather & crop permitting):
    • Thursday 10/9: 12pm-4pm (later opening is due to school tours on the farm in the morning)
    • Friday 10/10: 12pm-4pm
    • Saturday 10/11 -Monday 10/13: 10am-4pm 
    • Tuesday 10/14: The Entire Farm is Closed for Cleaning
  • Hayrides:
    • Saturday, Sunday, and Columbus Day Monday: 10am-4pm for $2 per apple picker

The Pumpkin Patch at Parlee FarmsTHE PUMPKIN PATCH:

  • Hours (weather & crop permitting):

  • We grow over  40,000 pumpkins in all different sizes, colors, and shapes and bring them to our Pumpkin Patch.  We know you will find the perfect pumpkins for your home here!

CUT YOUR OWN FLOWERS

  • Hours (weather & crop permitting):

Apple Cider Donuts at Parlee FarmsFARMSTAND (Wednesday 10/8 12pm-5pm, Thursday 10/9 10am-5pm, Friday 10/10 12pm-5pm, Saturday-Monday 10am-5pm):  We offer  have our own Apples including Honeycrisp, Macoun & more, Non-GMO Corn (very limited on Wednesday), Apple Cider Donuts (on Wednesday, only two for one day old available), farm made Bakery Items, and more!  Please bring your reusable bags to take home your Farmstand purchases.  Reusable bags are available for purchase at the farm for $0.10.

MARY’S COUNTRY KITCHEN (Wednesday 10/8 12pm-4:30pm, Thursday 10/9 10am-4:30pm, Friday 10/10 12pm-4:30pm, Saturday-Monday 10am-4:30pm): offering our farm made Warm APPLE CRISP, Ice Cream, Frozen Drinks, and more!  The LUNCH BOX at MARY’S COUNTRY KITCHEN is open FRIDAYS 11am-2pm.

ANNIE’S ANIMAL BARNS and THE SANDBOX (Wednesday 10/8 12pm-5pm, Thursday 10/9 10am-5pm, Friday 10/10 12pm-5pm, Saturday-Monday 10am-5pm):  you can visit and feed our goats (including 33 baby goats), sheep and chickens.  The feeding machines take quarters.  The Sandbox is over 2,400 feet of fun! Please do not bring food from home to feed the animals.

THE LUNCH BOX (Saturday, Sunday & Monday Columbus Day 11am-3pm): Burgers, Pulled Pork, Chicken Nuggets and more!  HARD CIDER & LOCAL BEER available for 21+.

ROASTED CORN (Saturday, Sunday & Monday Columbus Day 11am-4pm): our sweet, tender Non-GMO Corn is roasted to perfection and if requested, dipped into melted butter!

A few reminders when visiting the farm:

  • Please remember to leave your pets at home – only Service Animals are permitted on the farm.
  • The picnic area is reserved for our guests to enjoy food purchases from the farm.  No outside food is allowed.
  • No additional bags, backpacks, or containers permitted in the orchard (excludes small diaper bags).  Please reduce what personal items you need in the orchard to just the essentials.

Pick Your Own Apples at Parlee Farms

COST:

  • $41 for a 1/2 bu  (approx. 20 lb) bag allows entrance for up to 6 people*
  • $30 for a 1 peck (approx. 10 lb) bag allows entrance for up to 4 people*
  • $15 for a 1/2 peck (approx. 5lb) bag allow entrance for up to 1 person* (available Tuesday-Friday only)

HAYRIDES (weather permitting):

  • Hayrides for for apple pickers available on Saturdays, Sunday, Labor Day & Columbus Day for $2 per person
  • FREE Hayrides for apple pickers on Fridays

GENERAL PYO APPLE INFORMATION: 

  • *  Only children under 3 yrs old are excluded from the people count
  • Bag and Tickets are required for entrance to the Apple Orchard and Hayride.
  • All apples picked MUST fit it the bag purchased
  • No eating in the orchard
  • No additional bags, backpacks, or containers permitted in the orchard (excludes small diaper bags).  Please reduce what personal items you need in the field to just the essentials.
  • You will be directed to an area in the orchard to pick. This is where the fruit is ready for picking.
  • When sharing a bag, the entire group must stay together.
  • The orchard will close if heavy rain and/or thunder is in the area.

COST:

  • The Flower Garden is home to Zinnias, Dahlias, Gladiolus, and more than 20 different fillers over 2 acres.
  • The Sunflower Garden covers almost 1 acre with 3 different varieties of sunflowers.
  • $3 admission for each adult and child over the age of 5. Wristband is required for entry into the field.
  • $13.95 / lb for all the flowers that you pick in the Flower Garden.
  • $2 / stem for all sunflowers.
  • You may use our scissors and buckets for picking.  We will wrap the flowers in paper for you to take them home.
  • BRING YOUR OWN BUCKET and we will take $1 off your pyo purchase! Why?
    • It will save you a lot of time at check in and check out.
    • Also, we will fill your bucket with water and your flowers will stay hydrated for the trip home.
  • The Sunflower Garden will open in mid-September.
  • The Flower Gardens will be open until early October.

We grow over  40,000 pumpkins in all different sizes, colors, and shapes and bring them to our Pumpkin Patch.  We know you will find the perfect pumpkins to decorate your home for the fall season!
